Recap of today's Social Ride

What a beautiful morning it turned out to be. I was worried when I woke up and it was drizzling, but the clouds were gone by the time I reached the shop.
It was fun doing a nice, relaxing ride today - thanks for bringing out your "other" bikes! :)

We enjoyed a nice romp around Johnson Reservoir, before heading through some new territory for us all to the South Platte.

Perfect weather for us to enjoy some conversation at Hudson Gardens.

I'd say it was a good ride! Welcome Rachael!!! Thanks for joining us, and we'll see ya next week.

SOCIAL
* Rides geared for fun!
* A great place to do your first group ride
* Come meet and visit with new friends
* Destination is typically a local coffee shop
Max Speed: 12 mph
Avg Distance: 15-25 miles
Suggested Bike: Hybrid, Comfort, Cruiser, Mtn. Hardtail

RECREATIONAL:
* A great workout if you want to push yourself a little bit
* You try to ride once or twice a week
* Just getting back into the sport after some time off
* Your commute to work is too short - you want more!!!
* The distance/speed of the Intermediate Group is too much
Avg Speed: 10-15 mph
Avg Distance: 25 -35 miles
Suggested Bike: Beginner Road, Hybrid

INTERMEDIATE:
*You're confident with your bike
* Have experience with longer rides and faster speeds
* More of a steady pace as opposed to breaks/stops

ADVANCED:
* You want to be pushed to new limits
* Love attacking hills, riding hard, and going the distance
* Practice pace-lines and drafting
* You're in shape and prepared for this strong of a ride

Avg Distance: 40-50 miles

Ride Info:

1 - Every Saturday: Meet at Bicycle Village Southwest (8100 W. Crestline Ave., Littleton) around 9am. Rides roll out around 9:30am.

2 - All rides are co-ed and "no rider left behind".

3 - All cyclist MUST wear a helmet. Cyclist should also carry the usual basics: water, spare tube(s), pump, tire levers, and basic allen wrenches.

4 - Cyclist must sign a liability waiver before riding. Waivers are available at the store.

5 - Please post your name in the comment field if you plan to join us. This will help us organize the ride leaders and support supplies.

6 - If the weather is iffymake sure to check the blog after 8:30am on Saturday for updated information.
